first Getting Started workshop that was held in February was a huge

not only targets the Architect specifying the job, or the beginner

Stain
– Opportunity knocks in the field of stained concrete. Stain
is one of the hottest applications in the field of decorative concrete.
Learn the tricks of the trade while completing a masterpiece. You
will learn the do’s and don’ts and a variety of topics
will be covered enabling you to be more profitable in your business.
Each student will have the opportunity to create their own masterpiece
on sample boards and take home to use as a marketing tool for their
own business.
Seamless
Texturing
– Come learn limitless possibilities in this Seamless Texturing
workshop. In this workshop topics to be covered are form setting,
mix design, proper concrete placement and finishing techniques.
Take advantage of this “real world” training atmosphere
to enhance your know how.
Stenciled
Overlays & Engraved Concrete
– During this seminar, learn how to transform your utilitarian
concrete surface into a work of art. This course will cover topics
such as proper surface preparation, crack repair, and the installation
of stenciled overlays. Also as part of this course, take advantage
of one of the more popular techniques using sophisticated equipment
and permanently engrave your concrete with stunning results.
Skim
Coats – Stain – Dyes
– Learn this exciting aspect of the business using micro-thin
skim coats. As part of this course you will work with three versions
of some of the most advanced products available. Upon completion
of the installation of your skim coat you will have learned the
artistic side of the business utilizing a combination of reactive
stains and dyes.
Imprinted
Concrete
– Come take advantage of this hands-on imprinted concrete
experience. Throughout this course topics will include form setting,
sub grade preparation, mix design, and a multitude of ways to color
your concrete. Learn the intricacies of the entire stamping process,
start-to-finish.
Floor
& Wall Treatments
– Come learn in one of it’s first-of-a-kind class where
combining floor treatments and carrying the theme up the wall with
state of the art faux finishing techniques. Learn how to expand
your business from the floor up!

What is my investment in training for each workshop?
A.
Our workshop fees vary according to the duration of the workshop
and content. Please refer to the description of each individual
workshop and fees related to them.
The workshop fee includes a catered lunch each day, workshop materials
and hands-on training.
All
workshops are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
Q.
What about lodging during the workshop?
A.
Lodging is the responsibility of the student. Our training facility
is located in Douglasville, Georgia. We recommend you stay at the:

Concrete Institute Workshop.
Q.
What do I need to do about transportation for the workshop?
A.
Transportation is the responsibility of the student. If you are
traveling by air, you should make reservations to fly into Atlanta
Hartsfield International Airport (ATL). You will also need to reserve
a rental car for the duration of your visit. All of the major rental
car companies have facilities either on the airport terminal grounds
or nearby. Shuttles to the rental car lots are at the front of the
terminal.
Q.
How do I get to the workshop facility?
A.
Directions will be provided to each individual the Friday before
the workshop via email or fax. Directions will include from the
Atlanta Hartsfield Airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the
DCI facility.
Q.
What if I have to cancel my workshop registration?
A.
DCI requires a 14 day advanced notice for cancellations. Any cancellations
received after the 14-day cut-off period will be charged a $250.00
cancellation fee (this policy also includes no-shows).
